Past Year and Goals for the New Year (Post #9)
Hi everyone! Welcome to 2019!
Seeing as this is my first post of the year, I’m going to be recapping on last year, and sharing some of my goals for the upcoming year.
I started the year off being rated 924, and now I’m rated 1458 (chess.com blitz rating). I’ve gained 534 rating points!
Here’s one of the first games I played of the year.
On January 9th, I first reached 1000 rating.
On February 5th, I first reached 1100 rating.
On February 17th, I first reached 1200 rating.
On May 12th, I first reached 1300 rating.
On December 22nd, I first reached 1400 rating.
Here’s one of last games that I played of the year (You can also see this game in one of the tactical snippets).
As white, I’ve pretty much always been playing e4. In the middle, I did switch to d4 for a short amount of time, and of course randomly tried other openings.
As black, I’ve started off with the Sicilian Defense, and also ended with it. However, I’ve also tried the Caro-Kann, the Scandinavian Defense, the Modern Defense, and e5.
I’ve played 1807 games this year (the number is questionable, from different parts of the chess.com site I get different numbers).
Additionally, I’ve started playing OTB (Over the Board) chess as well, and have played 19 games so far, with a rating of 1396.
My first post on this blog was on December 24th, and I’ve shared a post every day (though some are kinda late).
My hopes for the coming year are:
-Continue posting every day on this blog :D
-Reach 1600 blitz rating
-Reach 1500 OTB rating
-Get an actual domain name for this blog
-Have 20 people subscribed to my blog by the end of the year
-Take more pictures of my cat
With all of that said, thanks for joining me for today!
Happy New Year!
